The Wine & Senses project links up wine regions in five European countries, mostly world heritage sites, based on the idea that wine tourism should not be limited to tasting wines and learning about winemaking processes, but also present an opportunity to discover the built and intangible heritage of cultural landscapes that man creates through altering nature with a view to growing grapes and making wine. Wine & Senses aims to offer a set of all-encompassing experiences that touch all your senses.
Designed according to these principles, the Wine & Senses tour itineraries are going to cover Cinque Terre in Italy, South Moravia in the Czech Republic, regions along the Duero in Spain and the Douro in Portugal, as well as Mád within Hungary’s Tokaj region. The itineraries are available for viewing on the project’s website, as well as through its smartphone application, and will be sold via professional tour operators.
Wine & Senses gives all participating sites, including Mád and the entire Tokaj region, another opportunity to reach the demanding wine and cultural tourist by substantially enhancing their visibility in international markets.
